Brief description of the line of research:

This area addresses studies related to exercise, nutrition and their impact on cardiovascular health and energy metabolism in humans. We are currently developing studies to understand the impact of intermittent fasting combined with exercise on ectopic fat accumulation (e.g. visceral, hepatic, pancreatic fat) and cardiovascular health in people with obesity. We are also carrying out studies to understand at what time of the day it is best to exercise to maximize its benefits on cardiovascular health in healthy people as well as in people with a pathology.

In addition, we are studying the physiological processes by which the body regulates the balance between energy intake and use, which is known as energy balance. This has led us, for example, to investigate brown adipose tissue, a tissue that could play an important role in the prevention and treatment of obesity and its associated metabolic alterations.
