The Red Española por una Infancia Activa y Saludable (REIAS)/ Spanish Network for an Active and Healthy Childhood was created with the aim of promoting active and healthy lifestyle habits among the child and adolescent population. REIAS focuses its activity on the generation and transfer of knowledge and to this end, interdisciplinary research projects are developed that allow establishing health surveillance indicators related to physical activity, as well as interventions to better understand their effectiveness. An example of this is the RETO! application. which aims to facilitate access to recommended activities for children and adolescents. To do this, it not only offers information but also involves the community when proposing certain activities. REIAS is coordinated by a research group from the Pablo de Olavide University (Seville) and has the support of the Global Alliance for an Active and Healthy Childhood (AHKGA).
This Network has been funded and strengthed by 2 national competitive applications from the Spanish Ministery (Redes del Consejo Superior de Deportes), in 2021 and 2023. Currently, the Network is applying the similar funding for 2024.
