PhD student Raquel Sevilla Lorente together with the DIVA project team receive the Second Prize of the National Awards for Research in Sports Medicine Cajatsur Foundation, University of Oviedo 2023. The study investigates the influence of biological sex and time of day on the metabolic response to aerobic exercise.

The “DIVA” team is composed of a large number of researchers coordinated by Jonatan Ruiz Ruiz, Francisco Amaro Gahete, Jesús Rodríguez Huertas and Luis Carlos López. Contributors belong to the University of Granada, the University of Jaén, the University of the Basque Country, the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the San Cecilio Clinical Hospital. Their findings reveal that the molecular adaptations in the skeletal muscle to the same aerobic exercise protocol are different between healthy men and women and, also differ when the exercise is performed in the morning versus the evening.
