The PROFITH group has been awarded a CIBER Seed Grant 2025 as part of the 1st Inter-Area Project Call launched by CIBER.
As outlined in the CIBER Strategic Plan 2024–2026, under Axis 1 “Transversality and Network Collaboration,” line 1.1 “Cooperation and Collaboration,” the first action item involves the development of a unified scientific policy across the entire consortium. This call is framed within that initiative, aiming to promote collaborative projects between different scientific areas, fostering the complementarity of knowledge among research groups to jointly address major public health challenges.
The funded project will receive seed funding of up to €250,000 to support its launch, with a maximum duration of two years starting October 1, 2025. The aim is for this project to serve as a foundation for future participation in competitive external funding calls.
📌 The title of the funded project is:
“Interdisciplinary Lifestyle Intervention for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Postmenopausal Women with Overweight or Obesity. The INTERAPNEA-PW Randomized Clinical Trial”, led by Dr. Almudena Carneiro Barrera and Dr. Jonatan R. Ruiz, from the Biomedical Research Networking Center in the Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition (CIBEROBN) and the PROFITH research group at the University of Granada.
