Brief description of the line of research:
The exercise neurosciences line examines the interactions between physical exercise, brain, and cognition in different populations, from overweight/obese children to patients with ischemic heart disease, or older adults. We develop non-pharmacological interventions based on physical exercise to preserve or improve cognitive functions and identify mechanisms of action in the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as to explore the prescription of exercise as an adjuvant therapy for them.
