🏆 The ActiveBrains Project Receives the NAOS Strategy Award Presented by Her Majesty the Queen

The ActiveBrains Project Receives the NAOS Strategy Award for Its Work Against Childhood Obesity.

The ActiveBrains project, led by Full Professor Francisco B. Ortega and coordinated by Professor Cristina Cadenas, both from the Department of Physical Education and and Sports at the University of Granada, has received the NAOS Strategy Award today at the NAOS 2025 Convention. The award, granted by AESAN and presented by Her Majesty the Queen, recognizes a decade of research on the impact of physical exercise on children’s health.

With the involvement of a multidisciplinary team, ActiveBrains has shown that physical exercise improves cognitive function, brain health, body composition, and several health markers in children with obesity, reinforcing its role as a preventive and therapeutic tool.
