🏆 A doctoral thesis linked to the PROFITH group receives the PhD Academy Award from Br J Sports Med
The PROFITH group at the University of Granada celebrates a new international recognition of the scientific excellence associated with its research activity.
The doctoral thesis of Dr. Andrés Mármol Pérez has been distinguished with the PhD Academy Award granted by the prestigious scientific journal British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM), in recognition of the quality and impact of his doctoral research.
The work was carried out within the framework of the iBoneFIT project, led by Dr. Luis Gracia Marco as Principal Investigator, and was supervised by Dr. Gracia Marco together with Dr. Jonatan R. Ruiz, both researchers linked to the scientific ecosystem of the PROFITH group, the University of Granada, and iMUDS.
The research analyses the role of physical exercise in improving bone health in children and adolescents with a history of cancer, a particularly vulnerable population in which low bone mineral density is common due to the effects of cancer treatments.
This international recognition highlights the impact and quality of the research conducted at the University of Granada in the field of physical exercise and health, and reinforces the leadership of the PROFITH group as a national and international reference in exercise and health sciences.
