Marcos Molina and Javier Sánchez, Award for Best Short Communication at the EXERNET Symposium

The PROFITH PhD students were recognized for their three-minute presentations, selected by public vote among conference attendees.

Marcos Molina Fernández and Javier Sánchez-Martínez, PhD students from the PROFITH research group, received the Award for Best Short Communication at the EXERNET Symposium 2025 (link).

These short presentations, limited to a maximum of three minutes, followed the international “3 Minute Thesis (3MT®)” format—a concise, clear, and engaging style of scientific communication used in universities worldwide. The best presentations in each session were selected by public vote from the symposium participants.

Marcos Molina presented “Changes in rest-activity rhythm amplitude after a 12-week time-restricted eating and supervised exercise intervention in adults with obesity: preliminary results of the TEMPUS randomized controlled trial”, while Javier Sánchez delivered “The effects of a 24-week resistance exercise program on Alzheimer’s disease gray matter diffusivity signature in cognitively normal older adults: Preliminary results of the AGUEDA trial”.

This recognition highlights the ability of both researchers to communicate complex scientific findings clearly and engagingly.
